Virgin Trains has slashed the prices of half a million tickets in its huge sale starting today.
Half price fares are available from September 11 through to December 20 this year.
Weekends are only on offer until November 5.
The sale runs from Tuesday August 22 to Monday August 28 at midnight.
Choose from standard or first class tickets to a whole range of destinations across the UK.
Travel from Leeds to London in standard class and pay £8 instead of £16.
A ticket from Edinburgh to London costs £20 down from £40.
Newcastle to London is on sale for £18 from £36.
David Horne, Managing Director at Virgin Trains on the east coast, said: “Late summer, autumn and winter are great times to get away and explore the UK.
“With so many exciting cities on our east coast route, we’re delighted to be offering our customers the chance to travel in style for less.
It found that only 47 per cent are satisfied with the value for money of their fares.
But on mainline Southeastern services between London and Kent satisfaction plummeted to just 33 per cent compared to a peak of 87 per cent on Grand Central’s London to Bradford trains.
The Transport Focus spring survey of 27,290 passengers recorded a “fragile” recovery in passenger confidence with overall satisfaction across the country at 83 per cent – up three percentage points on spring last year.
The companies with the highest overall satisfaction scores were Hull Trains (97 per cent); Heathrow Express (97 per cent); Grand Central (94 per cent); Merseyrail (94 per cent); Chiltern (92 per cent); and Virgin Trains (West Coast) (92 per cent).
