Star Wars: The Force Awakens left fans with a lot of questions, especially after Rey’s Force back vision.
Those listening carefully will have heard the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi just as the character came back around.
Now Star Wars theorist Mike Zeroh reckons the words of this Force ghost were from the future and will be said to Rey in The Last Jedi.
In his new YouTube video, he says: “Why did they insert Obi-Wan Kenobi’s voice in during post-production? Well they may have come up with a really interesting storyline for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
He continued: “In [Rey’s Force back vision] sequence, we do hear Obi-Wan Kenobi saying, ‘Rey these are your first steps.’
“[The words] were a mixture of both the legendary Sir Alec Guinness and of course Ewan McGregor, the actor who portrayed Obi-Wan in the prequels.
“I don’t necessarily think Obi-Wan was speaking to Rey in the moment of the vision. I honestly do believe that when he says, ‘These are your first steps’…it is a parallel to the Star Wars: A New Hope sequence when Obi-Wan tells Luke, ‘That’s good, you’ve taken your first steps into a larger world.’
“I think that when Obi-Wan is telling this to Rey, it’s actually a Force ghost voice of [him] talking to Rey in the future…at some point in The Last Jedi.”
Zeroh continued: “Rey [will] eventually hear a voice either in one of the caves or in the sequences where she’s underwater and goes to another hidden cave.
“The reason I do believe that is because we have heard that Yoda’s Force ghost is returning…in physical form.
“We also heard many rumours and leaks out there that Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Force ghost returns to a degree, but only by voice apparently.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
