Rashford has enjoyed a stunning rise since making his Manchester United debut under Louis van Gaal in February 2016.
A brace against FC Midtjylland propelled him into the limelight with the 20-year-old since helping the club to three pieces of major silverware.
Even Jose Mourinho – a manager who has a reputation for overlooking young talent – is an admirer of Rashford with the forward making the most appearances under the Portuguese last season.
However, Spanish website El Bernabeu has sensationally claimed that the youngster wants to emulate club hero Ronaldo by moving to Real Madrid further down the line.
Ronaldo spent six years at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009.
During that time he helped United conquer both domestic and European football, with the club famously winning the Champions League in 2008.
However, he left the following year to fulfil his dream of plying his trade at the Bernabeu.
And El Bernabeu say Rashford wants to do the same.
It is claimed that the attacker has always dreamed of playing for Madrid, with the Brazilian Ronaldo his hero.
The 20-year-old recently praised Ronaldo by saying: “I used to watch a lot of him growing up.
“All of his games. And I’ve seen a few bits from him from quite a while back, all the clips on YouTube.”
Real are supposedly monitoring Rashford with a view to making a bid, possibly after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
However, relations between the two clubs have become strained in recent years.
United famously kept hold of David De Gea two years ago with paperwork problems costing the Spain international a return to his homeland.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos stubbornly refused to sell Alvaro Morata to United this summer.
