Liverpool already have a £51million deal in place for Keita to join them in July but the Reds are desperate to bring the Guinea star to the club now as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who was sold to Barcelona.

The Reds have been in discussions with Leipzig about the 22-year-old but the Bundesliga are staying firm.

Reports in Germany on Friday claimed Keita would play his last game for Leipzig ahead of moving to Anfield on Sunday.

While a company under the name ‘NK8 LIMITED’ has been registered on the Companies House website with Keita listed as one of the two officers.

And Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has duly named Keita in his team to face Schalke.

A win for Leipzig would move them above their opponents and into second place in the Bundesliga.

On Thursday, Hasenhuttl said he believed Keita wanted to stay and finish the season with the club.

He said: “I think that Naby wants to finish the season in a good way in Leipzig. He wants to leave a good impression.

“He made many good games for the club – in my opinion I think that he will put everything into the rest of the season.

“He probably wants to do some self-promotion before he leaves. He does not want to leave without showing all his qualities since he had some weak games in the first part of the season.”
