OnePlus will smartphone tomorrow but fans have just been given an early glimpse of what’s to come.

The Chinese technology firm revealed all in an advert break during the India vs Pakistan cricket final.

The short ad, which was beamed across India, showed off the OnePlus 5’s new design with both the front and back of the device in the full view.

From the font there’s clearly a large display and fingerprint placed at the bottom of the phone.

However, it’s the rear of the OnePlus 5 where things get interesting as this new flagship features a dual-lens camera similar to that found on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Along with an image of the device, OnePlus also included the words, “Dual Camera. Clearer Photos”, in the advert.

We’ll find out more about this dual-lens setup tomorrow but it’s thought the OnePlus 5 will be able to take images with a DSLR-style depth of field focus.

Like Apple’s latest smartphone the new OnePlus should also offer users the ability to zoom without losing quality in the image.

As well as including this new snapper the successor to last year’s OnePlus 3T will purportedly boast a 4,000 mAh battery.

This is a huge power source with Samsung’s Galaxy S8 only including a 3,000 mAh battery cell, and the Galaxy S8+ 3,500 mAh.

OnePlus 5 is also rumoured to sport a 5.5inch multi-touch display with a 2560×1440 resolution – a step-up from the Chinese company’s current flagship device, OnePlus 3T, which has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

Charging and syncing is expected to be handled via USB Type-C.

Unfortunately, those who were hoping this new flagship handset would retail at the same almost-budget price tag that OnePlus has used for its previous smartphones might be disappointed.

Sources speaking to Android Authority have claimed the pluckily Chinese startup is this year looking to use “more costly components”.

This move towards the high-end would dramatically increase the price of the OnePlus 5.

According to the source, OnePlus is “looking at a significantly higher price point due to components and design” – with some whispers placing the next OnePlus handset at as much as $650 (roughly £500).

That’s a significant step-up from the firm’s last phone, which retailed for £399
