Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon) got in the car with Nathan (Christopher Harper) despite Mary Taylor’s (Patti Clare) attempts to make her see him for who he really is.
However, as Nathan lost it when finding out that Bethany didn’t have her passport with her because her mother Sarah-Louise (Tina O’Brien) cut it up, Bethany finally realised that he might not have had the best intentions after all.
Nathan yelled at her after explaining that he would have to stay in the country while she lived with another man, leaving Bethany in tears.
He explained: “A friend of mine is going to take you.
“I have broken bail. I am going to stay here and you are going to Belgium. As soon as it’s safe I’m going to be on that first boat over. You just need to trust me.
“Stop asking questions, will you? It’s going to be fine,” Nathan then screamed.
As Nathan then attempted to sort Bethany a passport at a petrol station, Bethany saw this as a chance to escape his clutches and went up to a nearby family.
She begged: “Please I need your help! There’s a man who’s trying to make me leave the country and I don’t want to go.”
Viewers immediately took to Twitter to voice their relief, with one person posting: “Yes so glad Bethany’s realised hopefully she’s out! Great storyline #CoronationStreet @lufallon.”
“Woooooo. Thank god #Bethany has finally seen the light #corrie #coronationstreet,” a second yelped.
